If you are struggling with succeeding as a virtual assistant or in any field, I want you to think about this for a minute.
Let’s say there is a running competition, and you have to run for 1 kilometer.
10 of you started from the same starting point, and everyone is running to win.
But among the 10 of you, there are some who stay every here and there to shake hands with their friends, or look at some other sports happening in another field for a minute, and then they continue running.
And then there are others among you who started running and refuse to look at anything other than what is in front of them, which is the finish line.
Who do you think will win the race? The ones who stay here and there to look at other sports and chat a little bit with their friends? Or the ones who didn’t stop for anything and kept their eyes on the finish line?
This is exactly what is happening for many people.
They start something, they work on it for 2 days, and they get distracted for 5 days. Then they work on it for one week and forget about it the next week, and they spend years doing that without achieving anything.
As I coach people in virtual assistance, most times I can clearly see the students who have the highest likelihood of success. Not because of their skills or how fast they learn, but because of how focused they are, day in and day out.
There is never a shortage of distractions, and sometimes you disguise those distractions as action, which is why the first thing you need to do, if you are still at that level of struggle with no progress, is be honest with yourself!
Stop giving your distractions excuses; that is the only way for you to win your race.
Your daily actions are the biggest contributor to where you will end up; it will determine whether you win your race or not.
And if that is the case, then the question I will ask you is: How bad do you want to succeed? If you want it bad enough, then maybe you should focus your daily activities toward winning that race.
If you only work on achieving the thing after you watch a video that motivates you for 2 days, and then you take no action for the next 2 weeks, you will never get there.
You will only get there when you work on it every single day, with clear focus and no distractions from shiny objects or unrealistic YouTube videos.
Maybe if you do that, 2026 will be the year you finally achieve that dream!
Cheers 🥂
