I started watching a YouTube video earlier today, and in the beginning of the video, the creator started with a promise, which is “this will change your life”!
I never noticed until now that so many videos on YouTube are promising to “change your life,” which makes me understand that promises work in keeping people watching the videos. That is why every creator is promising to help you change your life.
And that got me thinking: do I want to change my life? Or do I want to change some areas of my life? And what does that even mean for me?
Think about it for a minute. Do you want to change your life, or do you want to change some areas of your life? And what specifically would you like to change about your life?
If you figure this out clearly, then the next question is: what is stopping you from getting there?
Is it lack of knowledge? Is it lack of time? Is it too many responsibilities? Lack of money? Lack of self-discipline?
Try to really think about the exact thing you want to change and what the biggest barrier is that stands between you and making that change.
I believe every problem has a solution, but some solutions are just hard to find. And more importantly, you have no chance of finding the solution if you didn’t figure out the exact problem.
When I worked as an administrative officer with a tiny salary, I did some math and figured out a number that I knew if I got that amount every month, my life would really change. I looked at my workplace, and I figured even the position that I could reach in the next 10 years wouldn’t pay me that amount. I knew I needed a solution to that problem.
And I figured that if I found a way to get paid in dollars, I would reach that number. I went after that, and I was able to get it.
The solution was not easy, but I was able to get it after I figured out the exact problem first.
Same thing happened when I decided to quit my administrative job. I always felt uncomfortable with relying only on virtual assistance work because I am selling time for money. If for whatever reason I couldn’t work, I would not get paid. So I started a YouTube channel that I monetized, which became my safety net.
So, I will say this again: every problem has a solution. Some solutions are hard to find or hard to go after.
And if you really want to change your life, start by figuring out the exact area of your life you want to change, what the barrier is that keeps you from getting there, and what the solution is to that barrier problem.
Having this kind of clarity will help you have a compass that will guide your daily actions in the direction of actually changing your life.
So, if you have never thought about what changing your life actually means to you, maybe now is the best time to start, and it can be the difference between your achievements of 2025 and the 2026 that is coming!
Cheers 🥂
