I learned something early on in my entrepreneurship career, which is: Success demands a price!

Just like how if you want to buy a new mobile phone, it has a price. If you want to have a car, it requires a price. If you want to go to school, it requires a price. Entrepreneurship success also demands a price.

Sometimes the price is money, and sometimes the price isn’t money, it is something else.

That is why the first thing I ask anyone who tells me they want to start virtual assistance or any form of online business is: Are you willing to pay the price?

I succeeded in virtual assistance and content creation and some other areas of entrepreneurship, and I will tell you the price I paid for it.

I paid with a big part of my social life! I used to be out with friends every day, I went to almost every social event I was invited to, and I enjoyed that because I like socializing by nature. Looking back at it now, I don’t remember the last time I did any social activity with people.

I paid with almost all my holidays! I haven’t taken a single day off for years, not for any type of holiday.

I paid with the slow evening times where I scroll on my phone or watch a movie without thinking about work.

These are some of the prices I paid to get to where I am today. So I will ask you again: Are you willing to pay the price?

I know success looks different for everyone, and that is why the price you pay is going to be different, also unique to yourself and your goals, but I promise you, no matter what your goals are, in order to achieve them, you have to pay the price for it.

What I found to be a common price of success for virtual assistants is changing your priorities!

Every action you take every day is based on the priorities you choose, whether consciously or subconsciously!

I will give you an example. Someone said, “I really want to start virtual assistance, and succeeding as a virtual assistant is my top priority, but I don’t have a computer, and I will buy a computer as soon as I can afford it.”

But next week, that same person buys a new mobile phone costing N200K+.

Whether that person knows it or not, they chose a different priority, which is comfort, not succeeding as a virtual assistant.

So, I will ask you again: Are you willing to pay the price?

Are you willing to change your priorities so that every action you take every day reflects your will to succeed as a virtual assistant?

Are you willing to fight instant gratification and build your virtual assistant career?

Are you willing to keep working on it, learning and failing and trying again, without seeing any benefits and without giving up?

Are you willing to do more than what most people are doing?

If your answer to any one of the above is a “No,” then your plan to become a successful virtual assistant or entrepreneur might just be a dream and nothing more.

If I am to start over, I would rather pay the price with all I’ve got than stay where I was.

Cheers 🥂
