The Life-Changing Power of Compounding Growth (and How to Harness It for Any Goal)

I have one superpower that I am going to share with you, and if you listen, truly listen, and understand, it can be the missing key in your career & financial development.

This one thing helped me become a capable virtual assistant, made it easier to find clients, helped me build a thriving YouTube channel, and allowed me to continue growing my income.

This one thing is compounding growth!

Don’t worry, I will explain.

Let’s say a client hires me to be their project manager, and the client ends up needing new sales pages to promote an offer. I can say, “Hey, I can take care of that for you.” If the client needs to build an email marketing campaign, “I can take care of it.” If they need to build a CRM campaign, “I can take care of it.”

If you notice, these are all totally different categories of tasks, and I have a professional level of knowledge in all of them.

How?

I didn’t plan to know everything under the sun and offer it to clients; it compounded over time.

I started freelance web design before I started virtual assistance, and that is how I learned everything about web design and development.

I tried blogging, but it didn’t work. I learned content writing in the process.

I tried affiliate marketing, but it didn’t work, so I learned social media marketing.

I tried dropshipping. It didn’t work, but I learned how to work with Shopify, WooCommerce, and email marketing.

Trying so many different things over time, even though I didn’t see the results I was aiming for at the time, helped me gain important skills. That is how I became a capable virtual assistant.

The different skills I learned in the process compounded and made me able to do almost anything I want to do for a client.

The same thing happened when I started YouTube. I began making videos that were not great, okay at best, and they were not getting many views. But I kept making videos. Over time, I made over 200 videos, and I became better at speaking on camera, better at appearance and presentation, and better at storytelling in my videos.

I gained over 1 million views on YouTube through compounding growth!

No one video took me to that level; the 200 videos I made in the process are what compounded, generated over a million views, and made me a better content creator.

And think about this, if I hadn’t tried many things, I wouldn’t have the knowledge to share on YouTube that people would even find interesting.

That is why I believe compounding growth is my superpower, and I have become allergic to instant gratification.

If you truly want to achieve the things you set out to achieve, there are two things you must avoid.

The first thing is, of course, instant gratification. In my experience, there are many ways to win, and luck plays a significant role in our lives, but you cannot be lucky without showing up day in and day out for a long period of time.

You cannot be lucky by just trying things passively for a short time; you have to really be there for as long as it takes to find your luck.

The second thing is to avoid setting yourself up for failure.

If you have very limited knowledge of computer operations and you decide to start learning JavaScript programming, you are probably not going to go far. You will burn out quickly, and you will be forced to give up because you set yourself up to fail.

If you have no money and you decide to start a YouTube travel vlog, and you use the little money you have to start traveling and recording content, you will probably set yourself up to fail, because you will run out of money and be forced to quit.

Here is my final advice to you: if you truly want to succeed, develop the mind of an entrepreneur, not the mind of a virtual assistant or the mind of anything that will put you in a box.

As an entrepreneur, you set your goals. Instead of saying, “I want to find 5 virtual assistant clients,” your goal will be, “I want to make $5,000 per month.” This will help you be flexible with how you reach that goal.

Thinking like an entrepreneur will help you be creative, think outside the box, and try different things to get to your goals. Over time, your efforts will compound and take you there.

The first step is to set your goal. The second step is to choose how you will get there. The third step is to be creative along the way.

I am curious, what is your goal, and how do you plan to achieve it? Let me know in the comments section below.

Remember: the magic isn’t in the big wins, it’s in the small steps that compound over time.

Cheers🥂
