Figure out what will have the most impact on your current goal, focus on it, and forget everything else.
I have worked with so many entrepreneurs and business owners, and I often see many new business owners fail not because they are not taking action, but because they take massive action on things that have the least impact on their business goals.
I have seen a business fail even though they hired the right people and put in a ton of work and effort to make the business work.
And the main reason for these failures is doing too many things that “could work” instead of picking what will have the most impact toward achieving the main goal and focusing on it.
With that business, the main goal at that time was to make enough sales to cover all the business expenses, and we knew that all the sales we had came from the founder doing live reviews. So it was clear that if we wanted to achieve the goal of increasing sales to cover all the business expenses, the founder should continue doing the live reviews regularly. But instead, we got spread way too thin by writing blog articles and trying to rank on Google, making YouTube Shorts and Reels daily, building a presence on Quora, and a bunch of other things that never generated any sales for the business.
So, you see, we were taking massive action, but doing the things that would not have an impact on achieving our current goals. And that is the major reason that business failed.
And this is true for most people at almost every stage. There are so many actions you can take, but only a few of those actions will have an impact on achieving your current goals, and you must be able to figure out what that thing is and give it 100% of your energy.
The main problem is, most times the one or two things that will have the biggest impact are either boring or uncomfortable, and that is why instead of doing those things, you end up looking for less boring and less uncomfortable things to do.
But unfortunately, becoming more than who you are almost always requires some level of discomfort and doing boring things for some period of time.
So, just ask yourself: do you really want to achieve that goal? If the answer is yes, then you know what to do.
Look at all the things you have been doing and figure out what has some proof of success. What has moved the needle the most since you started?
That thing that moved the needle the most, no matter how little the needle moved, is what you should focus on and work on accelerating, no matter how boring or uncomfortable it is.
The moment you start doing that and forget everything else, you get on the path to achieving your goals. You only need to give it enough time, and you will get there.
Think about it now, and if you feel like sharing, let me know what is that one thing you will focus on in the comments below.
Cheers 🥂
