ChatGPT gave me advice I didn’t ask for, and it’s something I never expected!
Personally, I’ve always thought AI isn’t really that intelligent. I see it more as a tool that can memorize things faster than all humans combined. That’s why it can give you answers to almost anything within seconds, because it has memorized a massive amount of information it can pull from.
But at the same time, it often fails at simple things that every human can do.
I recently saw a video where someone asked AI to create a picture of a wine glass filled to the brim with wine. But it couldn’t create one, because it couldn’t find a reference. People usually pour wine halfway, not to the top.
I also use ChatGPT to write newsletters for my clients. Even though it knows the newsletter is for my clients, it sometimes signs the message with my name. But I’m a VA, my name shouldn’t appear in my client’s signature.
But what happened today gave me a totally different perspective.
I asked ChatGPT: “Give me a list of all the business ideas I’ve ever discussed with you.”
I asked because I use ChatGPT as a place for brain dumps. Anytime I’m thinking about starting something new or improving something I’m already doing, I usually talk it through with it.
So it went ahead and gave me a list of everything we’ve discussed.
But at the end of the list, it asked me this:
“If you want, I can also show you something very interesting:
The ONE idea among all these that has the highest chance of making you $1M+ in the long run based on everything you’ve told me.”
Of course, I responded with:
“Okay, I’m interested..”

And the next response I got was one of the most realistic and thoughtful pieces of advice I’ve ever received. The kind you usually only get from someone who truly knows you, your experiences, and your interests.
That taught me something important:
AI can become the mentor you need if you train it to be.
The one thing that can help you more than any online course or YouTube video is personalized advice based on your own situation, interests, knowledge, and even your geographical location.
That’s why mentors are so valuable.
But many people can’t afford to hire one, especially when they’re still struggling to make something work.
What I just realized is that you can actually use AI as your mentor.
Build enough chat history with your AI so that it understands you well enough to help you achieve your goals for 2026.
The real power of AI isn’t asking questions; it’s letting it understand you.
Cheers 🥂
